BEETLES
Most beetles can be recognized
by the hard, shiny wing-cases
that hide their delicate wings.
Some have long horns or jaws,
especially the males, which use
them for fighting.

WASPS AND BEES
Although notorious for their
stings, most wasps and bees are
no trouble. Wasps hunt insects
to feed their young, while bees
visit flowers to gather nectar.

ANTS
All ants form huge colonies
ruled over by a single “queen
ant” who lays all the eggs. The
“worker ants” build the nest,
defend it, and gather food.
