Food 2.0 series,
editor Ellen
Nij Bijvank asks
food lovers about
their favorite meal. “I saw a table in
Ottolenghi Simple, the latest
cookbook by Israeli-British chef
Yotam Ottolenghi, that I would love
to sit down at. I emailed him about it;

I hadtoknowif thephotohadbeen
taken at his home. He replied, saying
it could easily have been. A table full
of small dishes where everyone can
scoop up what they want is his
favorite way to enjoy a meal on
weekends. The photo was taken at
the home of his book designer, Caz
Hildebrand, during a photo shoot for
the book. ‘We all sat at the table and

hada greattime,’Ottolenghiwrote.
‘Sharing food with family and friends
is a social activity I truly love. A
generous cocktail platter is also my
favorite thing to make when family or
friends come over for a meal. Even
though it doesn’t involve a lot of
work, it makes a great impression.
Besides, it’s always a fun, relaxed
way to enjoy food together.’
