A Force for Change—Period

When it comes to back-to-school
supplies, pencils, notebooks, and
binders typically come to mind.
One vital category of necessities
that often gets overlooked?
Period products. Many girls don’t
have proper access to the period
products they need. In fact, 1 in
5 girls in the United States has
missed school because of lack of
access to period products.^1 Period
poverty can cause back-to-school
season−a time that should be filled

stressor for girls, and many miss

activities because of it. The effects
of period poverty can be long-

and academic performance. Luckily,
Always is stepping up to the plate to
help end period poverty for good.

In 2018, the feminine care company
launched their #EndPeriodPoverty
initiative to raise awareness about
the issue and to help keep girls in
school. Last year, they donated
more than 20 million period products
