The Berlin of Marlene Dietrich and David Bowie inspired Max Mara’s resort show at the Neues Museum, its raw
brick walls providing a backdrop for a collection that explored louche, androgynous tailoring by way of loose
trousers, sharp-shouldered coats and dramatic capes. The designer Ian Griffiths took the torch singer Ute Lemper as
his muse and she walked in the show, wearing the penultimate look like a glorious reincarnation of Dietrich herself.
