Prada’s resort show – the bare

concrete interior, stripped

back by the architects Herzog

& de Meuron, chimed with

the designer’s idea for her

collection. ‘It’s simplicity as a

protest against too much,’ she

said afterwards. Unusually

straightforward, perhaps, but

oh so pretty: embroidered

cotton dresses, folksy

smocked tops and calico

suits, a ll pa ired w it h high-top

trainers and socks.
