Runner's World

(Jacob Rumans) #1

THE EXPERIENCE
‘Last year Rick Pearson
RW section editor told
me he was organising a
relay linking the highest
points of London’s 32
boroughs (see p36). Did
I want to arrange a sister
event in Edinburgh my
home city? And so the
Edinburgh Peaks came
into being – a run
connecting the tops
of 17 city council wards
beginning in the south-
west Pentlands on East
Cairn Hill (567m) and
culminating under the
Forth Rail Bridge in South
Queensferry 49 miles
away. Here’s the view
across to Arthur’s Seat
(251m) the ninth summit.’
