While their dopey, suicidal antics often frustrated,
it was impossible not to root for the lemmings.
While they were only a few pixels tall, DMA Design
managed to pack a boatload of charisma into just a
handful of animation frames. Plus, the toe-curling
splat of lem on concrete could break even the most

Ironically, while Lemmings is largely a game about
crowd control, the toughest stage in the game has
you looking over just one, solitary lemming. Armed
only with a handful of diggers, builders and builders,
you had to guide this lonely lem to the finish by
guiding it over a gauntlet of barely-there platforms.
