the way we are wearing our jewellery

is evolving. For 32-year-old Kajal Fabi-

ani, it was the lack of cool, non-bridal

designs that led to a line of what can

What led you to this space?

I actually started designing jewellery

because I felt there was a lack of fun,

easy-to-wear pieces in the market.

Everything was so formal and bridal,

which also meant it was only brought

out on special occasions. I wanted

to create a line that had more wear-

able jewellery.

from work to events, from the gym to

brunch—so we need quick accessories

to change into. Anything that can be

worn during the day as well as in the

evening and, more importantly, when

women are on the go... That’s the

kind of jewellery women, including

me, are looking for.

What’s the biggest trend in

jewellery right now?

Stacking jewellery—it’s always so chic

and a lot less formal. I love our midi

and stackable rings, which can be worn

together or separately. For the sum-

mer, I’m working on mismatched ear-

rings. The piece I’m most excited about

are the pavé diamond discs—coffee-

coloured diamonds in one ear and full

cuts in the other.

who wear your

jewellery?

They are both creative but

have very different styles.

Laxmi Dalamal is an interior

designer and her look is more

minimal. She loves to pair

sautoir necklaces with a sweat-

er or an LBD. Sonam Vaswani

has her own fashion label and

tends to go for my oversized,

statement earrings.
