_____________
IN THE RED
If you’re attached at the lip to your
favourite bold red shade, you may not
have to part ways even in warm weather.
Try a deep garnet-inspired red like
at Anna Sui and Huemn, which pairs
surprisingly well with spring’s blooms. For
those who’d prefer a more vibrant hue,
take a cue from Topshop Unique, Oscar
de la Renta and Jason Wu. Layer your
favourite red with cool undertones to
perfect that sharp, sophisticated mouth.

RISE AND SHINE
Add this term to your beauty
vocabulary: strobing. Master this
technique and your skin will look
like you showered inpearldust as
strobing draws the eye to the areas
where light would reflect naturally.
At Alberta Ferretti, Vera Wang,
Nishka Lulla and Shriya Som, an
opalescent shine radiated from
models’ cheekbones, bridges of
the nose, foreheads and chins.
Shivan & Narresh, Vaishali S
and Isabel Marant sent models
out with a wet, just-hit-the-
gym sheen on their faces,
embodying the ‘I don’t sweat,
I glow’ philosophy right
down to the
dewy lips.

FRIENDLY FIRE
Instead of the de rigeur metallic and matte brown
tones, explore the fiery gradients oftopaz
to add warmth to your skin. Tom
Pecheux added a smidgen of
the strange to Derek Lam’s
otherwise-clean collection by
blending a peach and yellow
shadow where your dark circles
would be, while at Altuzarra he chose
a dif used orange wash for the eyes.
At Etro and P.E.L.L.A, models’ eyes
were caught alight in metallic amber and
copper shades. But the hottest looks on
the runway used gold; we saw aureate
lids at Tanvi Kedia and gilt pouts at Prada.

APPLES TO ORANGES
Spring/summer wouldn’t be the same
without bright, bold pops of colour,
and shouldering that responsibility
this season iscoral. The power pout
ranged from a matte vermilion
at Victoria Beckham and creamy
orange-reds at Masaba and
Céline to earthy and rust-infused
at Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna
and Anand Bhushan. If you
really want to stop people in their
tracks, try painting your brows
and lids tangerine like the girls
at Max Mara.

COMING UP ROSES
Make-up artists borrowed frosty pinks and
delicate peach shades from rose quartz to
create flushed faces and lips. Peter Philips
created a tonal look at Dior with soft pink
dusted on the lids and cheeks and shiny, well-
hydrated lips. Gaurang added a soft pink blush
to his girls and at Sanjay Garg make-up artists
played with the warmer end of the palette—
glossy peachy pouts of set by defi ned eyes.

FADE TO BLACK
Taking inspiration from onyx, make-up
artists created looks that would get a goth
girl to grin. Pat McGrath’s broody beauty
at Miu Miu saw darkened eyebrows and
ombre pouts with black at the centre.
Whereas, at Julien Macdonald and Wendell
Rodricks, we had a sudden ’90s fl ashback
when the models stepped out with intense,
opaque smoky eyes.
