Vogue India July 2016

(Steven Felgate) #1
1,200 products, 13 judges and 100-plus hours. That’s how the handpicked jury for the Vogue
Beauty Awards 2016 went about calmly selecting the best and brightest in the beauty
business at Mumbai’s Taj Land’s End. Lesser mortals would have quaked at the sheer number
of samples up for testing, but not our experts. Not only did they choose the cream of the
crop, they did it with big smiles and their fun hats on. Hat’s of to them!

JUDGEMENT DAY

SHE’S GOT THE LOOK
Model Indrani Dasgupta enhances her
beautiful, almond-shaped eyes with mascara.
Three coats later, her lashes could be seen
from across the room!

THE MAKE-UP MAN
Make-up guru Mickey Contractor powders
down Vogue.in beauty writer Sneha
Mankani’s foundation. Lucky girl!

FLIP AND TOSS
Whether it’s a smoothener, scruncher or a
(dry) shampoo, Adhuna Bhabani knows the
magic formula to banish all bad hair days.

OUT, DAMN SPOT
Actor Aditi Rao Hydari gets squeaky clean (and
has a great time) with the quirkiest, ‘fresh’est
fragrance she’s ever seen.

A SWEET TREAT
Designer Anita Dongre was all smiles
after her judging. Was it the plethora of
products to pick from or the chocolates
that brought it on?

SPOILT
FOR
CHOICE
CEO & joint MD of
Welspun India, Dipali
Goenka ponders over
which product to pick.
She ultimately narrows
it down to three
favourites in
each category!

PLAYING
WITH COLOUR
How many shades of lipstick
can you wear on one hand?
Beauty editor Nidhi Sharma
Punjabi fi nds out.
