HAND-PAINTED
“Flowers, birds, leaves—almost
anything can be hand-painted
on your cake. It’s common
for couples to use paint that
matches their clothes, but
avoid overdoing.”—Bhaskar
Adeeb, executive pastry chef,
The Leela Palace, Chennai

BEYOND ROUND
“Try square, rectangular
and octagonal cakes that
have well-defined edges.
Frost them with Mondrian
art-inspired decor.”
—Georgia Dakota,
founder, Georgia Dakota

SUSPENDED
PRESENTATION
“Cakes are moving from tables to
planks hanging on ropes, vintage
chains or inside birdcages. This
presentation style is a good
conversation starter.”—Khushi
Malani, director, Cakekraft India

picking the frosting isn’t enough when

spired countless geode-like versions
around the world.
