When did you learn
you had type 2?
My wife, Lorraine, had been on
my case for years, saying that
I needed to go and get checked
for diabetes. Deep down I knew
there was something wrong,
but I kept avoiding it. When
I had a big feed or a lot of sugar,
I’d get a sickly feeling and I was
always thirsty. Eventually I went
to my doctor and he did tests
and said, yep, your wife is right.
However, he said that rather
than going on medication,
I should work on my diet and
lose some weight. That was
