following steps, watching block place-

ment and orientation. Sew 4 vertical

rows of patches and units as shown.

5 Join black sash strips and cut to sizes

shown in Assembly Diagram. Match-

ing centers and ends, join 4 vertical

rows with 3 sashes to complete quilt

center.

6 Refer to Borders in Quilt Basics. Join

black border strips and cut to sizes

shown in Assembly Diagram. Match-

ing centers and ends, sew border side

strips to quilt.

7 Layer, baste, and quilt. Patti outline

quilted the units and quilted parallel

diagonal lines throughout the border.

Bind the quilt.
