TheexacttimeI firststartedto

drawis hardtopinpoint.Asa

child,I’ddrawonanythingand

everything,totheexasperationof

myparents:cerealboxes,books,

officialdocuments,lettersfrom

schoolcomplainingaboutme

alwaysdrawingatschool!As

I gotolder,myworkbecame

lessaboutdestructionandmore

aboutchannellingmyeffortsinto

creatinga portfolio.Now,I just

wanttokeepdrawinguntil

I can no longer hold a pen.

I seebeautywithinthefemale

form.I wanttotranslateit into

myartwork– a wit,a certain

mannerism,a composure,a unique

imperfection,a smoulderinglook,

a trailblazingattitude.I findthese

attributesinfemalecharactersin

literature,instrongcinematicfemale

leads and in historical heroines.

I’venamedmostofmyladies

afterFrenchheroines.I beginby

drawing a female figure I’m inspired
