makes direct contact with the shadow. A raised object,
like the circumference of the saucer, does not make
contact with its own shadow.
At first glance, the position of the elements in this still life might look
random. The truth is, it requires a bit of work to make objects appear
as though they naturally arrived in their rhythmic, harmonious
