Basic Drawing Made Amazingly Easy (Made Amazingly Easy Series)

This pose looks natural because we have avoided the artist’s pitfall
known as twinning. Twinning is when the arms or legs mirror each
other in a pose. This can result in one leg appearing to hide behind the
other, making the model look as if she has a missing limb! By moving
the far knee up a few notches, the pose takes on an asymmetrical
look.
The arms present no problem for us because they are spread apart
and in no danger of masking one behind the other.
