BANG.... BANG.... BANG...

We fell silent in the kitchen.

30 East Drive in Pontefract, England
has quite the reputation for poltergeist
activity. In fact, at the height of its activity
in 1966, it was labelled the “most violent
poltergeist case in Europe.” Incidents
involved all manner of poltergeist activity
was said to have occurred, including, most
frighteningly of all, an incident in which
the youngest member of the family, Diane
Pritchard, was supposedly dragged up the
stairs by her neck, from an unseen force.

Over the years, the property had grown
in reputation as being one of the most
haunted properties in the United Kingdom
with thousands of alleged incidents

that have been witnessed by numerous
individuals and ghost hunting groups.
I’ll not go into detail here, but if you’re
interested then you can pop along to
30EastDrive.com for more background
information on the property.

The goings on at East Drive were
predominantly a topic of conversation
for the locals of Pontefract for 20 or so
years and only truly came to wider public
attention in 1981 when it was included in
Colin Wilson’s book, Poltergeist. As with any
good ‘haunted’ house, in 2012 the events of
the Pritchard family also became the basis
for a film, ‘When the Lights Went Out.’ In
more recent years, the property was visited
by Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman for their
Paranormal Lockdown series and most
notoriously of all, was the location for a
particularly infamous live episode of Most
Haunted.
