  1. With right sides together, layer a marked creamy/


white print square on top of a 1¼" x 2" navy print
rectangle. Sew on the drawn line, cut a ¼” from the
drawn line, then press back the resulting triangle.


  1. With right sides together, layer a marked creamy/
    white print square on top of the other end of the unit
    from Step 7. Sew on the drawn line, cut a ¼" from the
    drawn line, then press back the resulting triangle to
    complete the Flying Geese unit.

  2. Repeat Steps 7 and 8 to create a total of 32 Flying
    Geese units.

  3. Sew a Flying Geese unit from Step 9 between two


1¼" navy print squares to make a Star block row.


Repeat to make a total of 16 Star block rows.



  1. Sew two Flying Geese units from Step 9 with a 2"
    creamy/white print square between to make the middle
    Star block row. Repeat to make a total of eight middle
    Star block rows.




  2. Sew two units from Step 10 to the top and bottom
    of a unit from Step 11 to make a Star block. Repeat to
    make a total of eight Star blocks.




  3. Sew four Star blocks from Step 12 together to make
    a Star block border. Repeat to make a total of two Star
    block borders.




  4. Referring to the Quilt Assembly Diagram, sew the
    embroidery row to the top of the appliquéd section.




  5. Sew the two Star block rows to the top and bottom
    of the unit from Step 14 to complete the quilt top.




  6. Sandwich the quilt top, batting and backing; baste.
    Quilt as desired, then bind.
