Sewing Instructions
Stripe Blocks

1. Arrange and sew together five 2" x 8" print strips
   in the following combinations to make the noted
   quantities.
   5 blocks: mustard geometric/mustard small floral/
   mustard scroll/small cheddar print/mustard floral
   5 blocks: small gray floral/small gray print/sky blue
   tonal/sky blue floral/mustard geometric
   6 blocks: coral stripe/mustard floral/small cheddar print/
   coral floral/mustard scroll
   10 blocks: gray print/small gray floral/small gray print/
   sky blue tonal/sky blue scroll
   11 blocks: coral print/coral floral/coral stripe/mustard
   scroll/coral tonal
   12 blocks: mustard floral/mustard geometric/small
   mustard floral/butter geometric/small cheddar print
   12 blocks: blue geometric/blue stripe/small blue floral/
   small blue print/sky blue tonal


2. Take care when piecing to ensure blocks measure 8"
   square when complete.

Framed Pinwheel Blocks

1. On the wrong side of a 3½" cream tonal square, draw

a line diagonally from corner to corner.

2. With right sides together, layer a marked cream tonal
   square on top of a 3½" small gray floral square, then
   sew ¼" from both sides of the drawn line.


3. Cut on the drawn line of the unit from Step 2 to
   create two HST units, then trim each to measure 2¾".
   4. Repeat Steps 1-3 to make a total of 20 cream
   tonal/gray floral HST units.
   5. Using four HST units from Step 4, sew two rows
   of two HST units together, taking care with rotation
   of pinwheel to create a pinwheel unit.
   6. Sew two 2" x 5" cream tonal strips to the sides of
   the unit from Step 5.
   7. Sew a 2" x 8" cream tonal strip to both the top
   and bottom of the unit from Step 6 to complete a
   Framed Pinwheel block.
   8. Repeat Steps 5-7 to make a total of five cream
   tonal/small gray floral Framed Pinwheel blocks.
   9. Repeat Steps 1-8 to make these additional color
   combinations of Framed Pinwheel blocks:
   a. Cream tonal/blue geometric (4)
   b. Cream tonal/small cheddar print (3)
   c. Cream tonal/small blue print (4)
   d. Cream tonal/gray print (5)
   e. Cream tonal/coral print (6)
   f. Cream tonal/small blue floral (3)

Bird Appliqué

1. Position and affix the seven bird motifs on seven
   of the 8" square cream tonal backgrounds.


2. Using your favorite method for appliqué, stitch
   them in place.
