Corduroy
Goes Large
The Chelsea boot’s reappearance is as much a sign of fall’s arrival as leaves dropping from trees.
But this time around, the footwear’s resurgence comes with a fresh variety of tones and fabrics.
Change it up and rock the season’s best and brightest.

by now you’ve read enough articles about corduroy’s
resurgence—all you need to know for the coming chillier months
is that it continues apace. It’s worth noting, though, that designers
are adding some variety this fall. Needlecord has always been
popular but is now joined by hearty elephant cord, with its
plush centimeter-wide lines and velvety finish. While cord of all
stripes works beautifully in unstructured suiting and jackets–
look to the tailoring of Boglioli and Brunello Cucinelli for
inspiration–there’s a raft of heavy overshirts out there too, which
is a less-formal look we like. Wear yours over a cream cable-knit
crewneck or turtleneck sweater and cuffed flannel trousers for
foolproof winter style. Aleks Cvetkovic
