Amarys and Jordan Herndon opened their highly anticipated restaurant
Palm & Pine on Rampart Street in July. Th e duo previously ran a pop-up
called Old Portage. At Palm & Pine, the Herndons off er a casual fi ne-
dining experience with a menu that draws inspiration from “Th e South,
and South of Th at” (Louisiana and the South in general but also the
Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America). Th at results in mouthwatering

STUFFED & BUSTED SHREVEPORT
Chris Jay and Sara Hebert, the creators of the Stuff ed & Busted podcast and video
series, have launched a series of short fi lms celebrating lost restaurants of the
Shreveport-Bossier area. Th ey recently released their fi rst video, which focuses on
a Polynesian restaurant called Kon Tiki that operated in Shreveport for nearly
40 years, with interviews from past employees and memories of its beloved owner,
