ONE WAT C H :
M O WA LO L A
The Nigerian designer dressed Skepta, Dev
Hynes and Solange before she’d even had
her own runway show: ‘Solange told me she
felt powerful in my clothes,’ says Mowalola
Ogunlesi (above). ‘What excites me is how
people feel in them.’ After designing outfits
with Nike for Nigeria’s World Cup team
and debuting at London Fashion Week with
Fashion East last January, she’s added Drake,
Kanye West and London’s party scene to her
fan base. Following in the footsteps of Charles
Jeffrey and Molly Goddard, Mowalola will
exhibit Silent Madness at London’s NOW
Gallery (from 28 November). Guests will be
given an MP3 player to listen to Mowalola’s
playlist as you look around her collection.

TO FOLLOW
BETTY TOMPKINS
@bettytompkinsart
Betty Tompkins’ art is controversial and
ballsy – literally, in the case of some of her
giant genitalia paintings. In the 197Os,
her highly provocative work was under-
appreciated by critics. Now, it’s a timely
and compelling response to modern life.
Catch her group show at Frieze and get
following – you need her work on your feed.

uneasy Brexit future – it’s Gogglebox
