Kiki and Jax
Marie Kondo
If decluttering now sparks joy for
you, but your little ones are yet to
get involved, Marie Kondo has got
your back. Her new book is written

specifically to inspire children, telling a
heart-warming tale of two best friends
who learn that keeping things tidy
leaves room in their lives for the things
that matter the most.
Macmillan, £11.99, out on 5th November

Sleep soundly

You’ve washed and ironed your sheets,
used candles to create a calming
atmosphere and banned blue light from
your bedroom, all in the hope of getting a
good night’s sleep. But what about noise
you have no control over? Whether you
live in a house or a flat, neighbours and
your co-habiters can sometimes have
other ideas about what counts as low
noise levels. The solution? Try a sound-
absorbing panel to reduce background
hubbub and keep your sleep space serene.
This one from Ikea can be hung anywhere
in the room and dampens background
noise, such as chitter-chatter, the clattering
of pots and pans and the blare of the TV.
It looks cool too, even in the daytime.

Keep your kit in good condition

We all want our activewear to smell

as fresh as a daisy when we pull it on

(even if it doesn’t stay that way!), but

research suggests that using fabric

conditioner can affect its sweat-wicking

properties. Take care of your clothing

by investing in an antibacterial sports

wash. It’ll get rid of any odour, and a

lot of them work at 30°C – much better

for the planet than a hot wash.
