“I’m also our head of marketing, buying,
design... as a home-grown start-up,
there’s a lot of activity to oversee,”
Donna tells us.
The idea behind her subscription
box is to remind, inspire and empower
women to take time every month for
themselves. “Each box contains a non-
fiction book and a selection of gifts
that go with the theme,” explains
Donna. “So far, we’ve had boxes on
anxiety, business, friendship, sleep,
confidence and empowerment.”
It was personal experience that
inspired Donna to create WILDWOMAN.
“I went through a period of darkness in
my personal life, losing many loved
ones in quick succession. I brushed
things off, never really tuning in to how
I felt.” After reading a book given to her
on a mindfulness and meditation
course, Donna had a huge realisation.
“The words on the pages of these
books were helping me to heal.
I started a book club to help others
understand the messages that the
books had within them – that was the
beginning of WILDWOMAN”
Donna is still passionate about
helping readers to delve deeper into
each book. For her, receiving a physical
book through the post is a key part of
this process. “With a physical book we
eliminate distractions. We put down
our devices, turn off other connections
and focus on what we need in that
