The Ash Evans Media
Training series offers
ambitious women the
opportunity to shine.
The workshops cover
everything from presentation
skills and first impressions,
to on-camera media training,
the art of storytelling and crisis
communications. We want to
help you become your bold,
powerful self, and make sure
you are ready to not only face
the media but to also harness
its power to build your brand
and business. Our training
sessions are highly practical,
personalised and educational.

The secret of networking is
connecting people, even when
there is nothing in it for you.
Remember, first impressions
count. When you meet
someone, smile, be confident,
look into their eyes, shake their
hand and ask something about
them. People love talking about
themselves. Understand that
you can learn something from
everyone. Take the time to talk
to people, listen, and share
your business ideas or passions.
Always follow up with an
e-mail the following week
to solidify the connection.

Body language is important.
So much is read through body
language. Ensure that you
sit up straight, manage any
nervous mannerisms you may
have, and keep eye contact
with your interviewer. I always
tell clients to hold their chin
high, smile and use open hand
movements while talking. This
will draw your interviewer in
and you will come across as
positive, confident and open.
Preparation is key, so have

a friend do a run-through with
you before.

When I feel overwhelmed,
I use exercise as a release.
I get on the treadmill and I zone
out. It’s at these times that I can
clear my head, run through
all the complexities I may be
dealing with, and find solutions.

My best advice in building
confidence is to emulate
someone you admire.
Make sure you watch their
mannerisms, the way they
speak, and the way they
hold their body with
confidence. The next time
you walk into a room, act! By
acting like you’re self-assured,
you’ll lose your inhibitions and
become the most true version
of yourself.
