Today, there are 59,000 people in
Los Angeles experiencing homelessness
and food insecurity. It’s a number that
hasgrownby16%inoneyearalone.It’s
anumberthatisstaggering.Andbehind
it are a small-city’s worth of mothers,
fathers, sons and daughters—human
beings who need our help.
On October 4th, National Taco Day, we
won’tgiveyouafreetaco.Wewon’task
you to wear taco themed clothing for some
kind of discount. We won’t offer up some
kind of one-day-only, buy-one-get-one
promotion. Instead, we ask you to help us
make a difference.
For every taco we sell on National Taco Day,
wewilldonateatacotolocalsheltersinthe

experiencing homelessness. For every taco
we sell above this amount, we will continue
to donate more.
We do not pretend to believe that this will
solve our homeless crisis. But we do believe
in doing our own small part. In this spirit,
we invite you to join us on National Taco Day
when even the simple act of enjoying a taco
canbeabighelp.
