Difficulty RatingStep 1.
Take the mat and spread Cake Lace over,
half bronze and half gold. Swish the mix
onto the mat in left and right motions to
ensure it gets into all the crevices to pick
up the details. Using the tapered edge of
the palette knife, glide along the surface
to remove any excess mix and pop back
into the pot.
Step 2.
Bake in the oven at 75°C for 10-13 mins
until dry and it peels away from the mat.
Steps 3a & b.
Repeat with green Cake Lace only this time
leave some of the edges clear. Remove
excess and use gold to go back into areas
you have missed to give the effect of
autumn leaves changing colour. You can
also experiment and mix colours to create
new colours. Keep the leaves in a clean
plastic box until needed. The colours do
not stick to each other once dry.
Steps 4a-c.
To make the fantasy flower, roll a ball of
paste to act as a sticking base. Pick five
of the larger petals and place in a star
position. Add another small blob of paste
and repeat with smaller petals. Add a
third blob and find three of the smallest
petals to put on top. Push the centre
down a little to make the flower bloom
