TOP TIP:
Before you begin airbrushing, you will
need the following colour combinations:
Yellow with Leaf Green edges, Yellow with
Orange edges, Orange with Claret edges,
Claret with Dark Chocolate edges.
I have done darker combinations with
black edges and when veining the
stencils, I have used a mixture of Holly
Green, Claret or Dark Chocolate.

Step 8.
When airbrushing the leaves in full
colour, gently aim to keep the paper dry.
Repeat on both sides and you should
see the leaf start to curl gently. Spray
the edges with the secondary colour.
I find it very useful to have more than
one airbrush pen on the go to go back to
lighter colours if needed without having
to wash the airbrush between colours.

Step 9.
For the side of the cake, start with green
and hold the stencil securely with your
hand. To make a falling leaves effect,
make sure to airbrush the leaves in
different directions (some tilting left and
some right). Airbrush the yellow elements
to the leaves (the yellow and green mix
is the only leaf coloured on the outside
first and filled in the middle with the
secondary colour). Move down the cake
changing colours as you go as per the
colour combination sequence above.

Steps 10a & b.
Move down the cake adding more leaves.
Return to each with the vein stencil and
to do any outer edge colour changes. Pile
the wafer paper leaves up on each layer
much like the wind has swept them on
each step.
