54 GAMES WORLD^ OF PUZZLES | december 2019

Here’s how it works:

  1. Grid boxes are numbered to match the clues.
Clue answers are based (broadly!) on the puzzle
theme and must consist only of Puzzle Letters
    and vowels.
    For example:
    Theme: SUMMER FUN
    Puzzle Letters: S, M, R, F, N
Clue 1: An athlete skis in the winter
    and __ in the summer.
Possible answers: SWIMS (wrong because of the
“W”) and SURFS (may be correct).
    3. Only Puzzle Letters can be entered in the grid.
Discard all vowels, including Y (the “U” from SURFS)
and duplicate letters (keep the first “S” and delete
the second “S”) from the answers before adding
    them to the grid.
    4. Puzzle Letters must be entered in order but can be
added in any direction. Puzzle Letters S, R, and F
could be entered horizontally, vertically, or in an
L-shaped box as SRF or FRS. This means that the
middle letter must be R, and the first and last letters
can only be S or F.
    5. Use logic to help complete the grid! You don’t
need to answer every clue to solve the puzzle!
Send rave reviews, comments, and criticisms to
    [email protected].
