Felt Ribbon Candy

MATERIALS

Felt: assorted colors
Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
Embroidery needle
Embroidery floss

Cut a 1^1 ∕ 4 ×12-inch felt strip from two
shades of felt. Layer strips and secure with
a dot of hot glue at one end.
To create even loops, lay a pencil across
the felt layers 1^1 ∕ 2 inches from glued end.
Fold layers over pencil to create a small
loop (Photo 1). Secure loop with a dot of
hot glue; remove pencil.
Repeat, alternating directions to the end
of strip (Photo 2). Trim end.

Crepe Paper

Candy

MATERIALS

Sheet of crepe paper
1-inch foam ball
Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
Narrow ribbon

Cut a 5×6-inch piece of crepe paper. Lay
foam ball in center. Roll crepe paper around
ball. Hot-glue edge to secure.
Pinch and twist both ends next to ball.
Secure twisted ends with ribbon.

Felt Swirl Candy

MATERIALS

 Felt: assorted colors

 Hot-glue gun and glue sticks

 Embroidery needle

 Embroidery floss

Cut three 1×12-inch strips from assorted

colors felt. Stack strips so they’re

staggered by^1 ∕ 8 inch at one short end.

(Staggering makes the candy shape

easier to roll.) Secure with a dot of hot

glue under each layer at staggered end.

Starting at glued end, tightly roll felt

layers to create a swirl, gluing as needed.

Trim to even ends. Secure with hot glue.

Cut two 1×2-inch pieces from one

color felt. Cut a notch in one 1-inch

edge of each piece. At the other 1-inch

edge, cut a^1 ∕ 2 -inch slit. Overlap the

resulting tabs to form a small cup in the

felt, creating roughly a 90-degree angle.

Secure with hot glue.

Thread an embroidery needle with

embroidery fl oss. Push needle through

ornament from bottom to top. Leaving a

loop for hanging, push needle back through

to bottom; knot fl oss.

Hot-glue the fl at outer side of cupped

edge to the side of swirl; glue other

cupped strip to opposite side of swirl.

ornament from bottom to top. Leaving

a loop for hanging, push needle back

through to bottom; knot fl oss.
