MATERIALS

 Yarn: green or white
Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
2-inch foam ball

Using a cookie cutter, trace stocking shape
onto red or green felt; cut out.
Set felt stocking on foam block, then
top with cookie cutter. Pull off a loose
section of a matching color wool roving.
Set it inside cookie cutter. Using a felting
needle, punch roving through the felt until
stocking body is covered.
Repeat using white roving to cover the
top third for cuff. Remove cookie cutter.
Wearing fi nger guards, use felting needle to
tidy up any loose roving.
Using embroidery needle and fl oss,
create a hanging loop.

For each tree, dab a bead of glue along
bottom edge of a cone. Secure end of yarn
in the glue and wrap around cone. Continue
wrapping, keeping yarn wraps close
together and securing with glue as needed.
Cover the cone with yarn. Trim yarn at top,
tuck in end, and secure with a dab of glue.

Leaving yarn in its skein, pull out one end
and make a loop to hang the ornament on
the tree. Secure with a knot. Hot-glue knot
to a foam ball.
Wrap yarn around ball in random
directions until ball is covered. Cut yarn
from skein. Tuck cut end under wrapped
yarn and secure with hot glue.
