PAINT THE SNOWMAN


Lightly sand snowman; wipe off sanding
dust. Paint snowman off -white. Let dry.
Lightly sand snowman, then apply a second
coat of paint. Dip brush handle tip into
black paint to make dots for eyes. After
eyes are dry, dip a toothpick into off -white
paint and dot each eye with a highlight. Dip
a small brush handle tip into black paint to
make dots for mouth. Paint nose orange.
Dry-brush cheeks using pink paint. Paint
buttons black. Let dry.
Spray snowman with several coats of
clear acrylic spray, allowing fi nish to dry
after each coat.


DRESS THE SNOWMAN


Trace the hat patterns in Pattern Pack onto
white paper; cut out. Using a white marking
pen, trace hat top, hat crown, and hat
brim onto red cardstock. Cut out pieces.
Glue together short edges of hat crown,
pressing fi rmly. Glue hat top to top edge of
crown and glue bottom edge of crown to
hat brim. Place glue inside hat and attach to
snowman’s head. Glue velvet trim around
hat for hatband. Glue small greenery and
berries to trim.
Cut a 3×18-inch strip from striped knit
fabric for scarf. Tie scarf around snowman’s
neck; glue in place.

If miniature trees have bases, cut off
using wire cutters, leaving exposed wires
extending from bottoms of trees. Dab
crafts glue on the wire ends and push the
ends into holes in arms.
Add water to a small amount of artifi cial
snow and brush mixture randomly on hat,
letting it drip down crown.

EMBELLISH WITH MICA FLAKES


Brush decoupage medium over snowman.
Mix mica fl akes with a small amount of
glitter. Sprinkle mixture over snowman,
adding extra to hat brim, scarf, and trees.
