value. The scale goes from dark to light, where the darker the color, the greater the
business value.
The darkest color is in the application environment. There is a great deal of business
value there. There also is a great deal of business value in text. There is still a lot of
business value in the data warehouse and in the data marts. And there is only a scant
amount of business value in the big data environment.
Yet proportionately, there are much more data in the big data/data lake environment.
This is another reason for the relationship shown in Fig. 16.1.4.
