YOU WILL NEED
TO DECORATE

  • cupcakes

  • pink buttercream (I used Wilton Rosa),
in different light and darker shades
    EQUIPMENT

  • small palette knife

1 Scoop out a little dark pink buttercream
on the back of a small palette knife.
2 Place the palette knife flat on the middle
of the cupcake. Apply even pressure with
a curved movement, then place all the
buttercream on the back of the palette
knife onto the cupcake. Repeat the same
process on the other side of the petal.
3 Now go around and apply more petals,
making sure each time you apply the petals
in a curved movement, which will add
texture and 3D structure to the petals. The
more buttercream you have on the back
of the palette knife, the more the petal will
have 3D definition.
4 After about 3 layers of dark pink, you
can repeat the same process with a
lighter shade of pink buttercream, working
outwards towards the edge to finish the
rose shape. Alternate with different colours
in the centre if you wish.
