Demand Schedules and Demand


Curves


A demand schedule is one way of showing the relationship between
quantity demanded and the price of a product, other things being equal. It
is a table showing the quantity demanded at various prices.


The table in Figure 3-1 shows a hypothetical demand schedule for
apples. It lists the quantity of apples that would be demanded at various
prices, given the assumption that all other variables are held constant.
The table gives the quantities demanded for five selected prices, but in
fact a separate quantity would be demanded at every possible price.
