03 Tossing Tea on the Tundra
Michael H Davies, Canada
I live in a remote community called
Pangnirtung in Canada’s High Arctic.
We only get two-and-a-half hours of light
each day in winter. Armed with thermos
flasks filled with boiling tea I jumped on
a Ski-Doo with a friend, and we drove to
the top of a mountain where we knew the
light would hit the hills (it’s usually pink in
mid-winter) and began shooting.

04 Flirting States of Matter
Felix Inden, Germany
On Breidamerkursandur lava
beach, nex t to the Jökulsarlon
glacial lagoon in Iceland, you can find
many ice chunks from the nearby
glaciers. The title came to my mind
because you can see water in three
different states – water, ice and
clouds – in the one image.
