When my condition had set in
with a vengeance, I was forced
to give up professional

Scapulo Dystrophy, a rareIRUPRIPXVFXODUG\VWURSK\ ,
could no longer run around at a
wedding and eventually, even
t hough my w i fe A ngela did a l l
the heavy lifting for me, I
wasn’t able to hold the camera
for more than a few minutes at

daughter, Kelly, took over my
business, Lancastrian Imaging,
from me, and I began a search
for a new way to create images,
one that did not require so

A tripod became essential,

Each subject gives its own
satisfaction and challenges,
both artistically and for me

Michael J Brown found it difficult to even hold his
camera when his rare form of muscular dystrophy
set in, but that didn’t stop him from taking pictures
