Us

Here’s an early look at BBC1’s
darkly comic drama Us, which
is currently being filmed in
London, Amsterdam, Venice,
Barcelona and Paris.
David Nicholls’ four-part
adaptation of his own best-selling
2014 novel sees Baptiste’s Tom
Hollander play Douglas Petersen,
whose life is turned upside down
when his wife Connie, played by
Collateral’s Saskia Reeves, reveals

to him she is having doubts that
their marriage has a future.
Despite the fallout from Connie’s
announcement, she and Douglas
continue with their plans for one
last holiday across the great cities
of Europe with their teenage
son Albie (Doctor Foster’s Tom
Taylor). On the trip, Douglas
embarks on a dogged mission to
save his marriage and mend his
troubled relationship with Albie,

but a variety of obstacles stand in
his way. Fortitude’s Sofie Gråbøl,
Iain De Caestecker and Thaddea
Graham all co-star in the drama.
‘It’s a huge thrill to see the novel
come to life and with such a
wonderful cast and production
team,’ says Nicholls. ‘We want to
make something funny, touching
and beautiful, to really explore
marriage and family life, all
against this incredible backdrop.’
