EDGING
Join yarn D to bottom corner of
scarf and work an edging in dc
evenly along long side being sure
to work an odd number of sts.
Do not turn, join yarn A to beg of
Row 1 of edge.
Row 2: 1ch, 1dc in same st, [1ch,
miss next st, 1dc in next st] to
end of row.
Fasten off yarn A, do not turn,
join yarn D to beg of Row 1
of edge.
Row 3: 1ch, 1dc in same st, 1dc
in next st [1ch, miss next st, 1dc
in next st] to last st, 1dc in last st.
Repeat along opposite long side
of scarf.
FINISHING
Make eight tassels in yarn E as folls:
Cut a piece of cardboard
15cm/6in long.
Wrap yarn E round cardboard
to desired thickness of tassel is
reached.
Thread yarn needle with a length
of yarn A, pass through top loop
of tassel and tie up tassel tightly.
Cut bottom loop of tassel and
remove from card.
Thread yarn needle with a
length of yarn A approximately
40cm/15¾in long, wrap round
top of tassel fi ve to six times,
approximately 3–4cm/1¼–1½in
from top.
Tighten and tie off securely.
Trim ends of tassel to neaten.
Using top ties, sew two
tassels onto each corner
of scarf securely.
