This shawl is designed for a 4ply-
weight yarn. Any lofty fi bre with
a soft handle and good drape
will work. Some yarns may need
blocking more than once to open
up the stitches fully.
Note that shawl actually uses
200m/218yds of yarn A and
700m/765yds of yarn B.TENSION
Work 16 sts and 14 rows in
“up & down” st to measure
10 x 10cm/4 x 4in after blocking,
using 3mm hook or size required
to obtain tension.
Note: Both the lace and plain
sections of this shawl have been
designed to open up and grow
