● Erika Knight Fur Wool,
97% wool/3% nylon,
100g/40m/44yds
Yarn A: Flax x 1 skein
● Erika Knight Vintage Wool,
100% wool,
50g/87m/95yds
Yarn B: Flax x 1 skein
●5mm & 8mm hooks

YARN ALTERNATIVES
You can substitute any faux fur
yarn for the top of the stool
cover and aran-weight yarn for
the sides. Natural fi bres will
give a more realistic effect.

TENSION
Due to the textured nature of the
yarn, no tension is given.
If you wish to adjust the size of
the stool cover, you will need a
second skein of fur yarn.

MEASUREMENTS
To fi t a stool up to diameter
30cm/12in (will stretch).
For larger stools, work more
increase rounds.

PATTERN NOTES
The stool cover is worked in
spirals. At the end of each round,
do not join and do not turn.
A stitch marker can be used to
indicate the last stitch of
each round.

STOOL COVER
With 8mm hook and
yarn A, make 6ch, join
with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: 10dc in ring – 10dc.
Rnd 2: [2dc in each dc] ten times


  • 20dc.
    Rnd 3: [1dc, 2dc in next dc] ten
    times – 30dc.
    Rnd 4: [2dc, 2dc in next dc] ten
    times – 40dc.
    Rnd 5: [3dc, 2dc in next dc] ten
    times – 50dc.
    Rnd 6: [4dc, 2dc in next dc] ten
    times – 60dc.
    Rnd 7: [5dc, 2dc in next dc] ten
    times – 70dc.
    Rnd 8: [6dc, 2dc in next dc] ten
    times – 80dc.
    Rnd 9: 80dc around.


Change to yarn B and
5mm hook.
Rnd 10: 80dc around.
Rnd 11: [6dc, dc2tog] ten times


  • 70dc.
    Rnd 12: [5dc, dc2tog] ten times

  • 60dc.
    Rnds 13 & 14: 60dc around.
    Place stool cover on stool and
    work more straight rounds if
    necessary to cover sides
    of stool. Fasten off yarn.
    Weave in ends.
