ARMS
Make two
Using yarn A make an
adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: 6dc into ring – 6dc.
Rnds 2–20: Dc around.
Fasten off, leaving enough yarn
for sewing.
Stuff with toy stuffi ng.

LEGS
Make two
Using yarn A make an
adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: 6dc into ring – 6dc.
Rnd 2: [2dc in next st, 1dc] three
times – 9dc.
Rnds 3–13: Dc around.
Fasten off, leaving enough yarn
for sewing.
Stuff with toy stuffi ng.

HAIR
Using yarn B, wrap the yarn 50
times around a book and cut
on one side to get strands of
approximately 40cm/16in.
If you don’t have the right size
of book, just cut 50 strands to
this length.

Separate into groups of fi ve
strands. Using yarn from the ball
and working with your yarn under
the strands, sl st over the strands.
Add another group of strands

and rep until you’ve used up all

the hair, then fasten off.

Keep this hairline to one side until

ready to attach it to the head.

HEAD & BODY

Using yarn A, make an

adjustable ring.

Rnd 1: 6dc into ring – 6dc.

Rnd 2: 2dc in each st around

• 12dc.
  Rnd 3: [2dc in next st, 1dc]
  around – 18dc.
  Rnd 4: [2dc in next st, 2dc]
  around – 24dc.
  Rnd 5: [2dc in next st, 3dc]
  around – 30dc.
  Rnds 6–13: Dc around.
  Sew on hair and place safety eyes
  between Rnds 9 & 10.

Rnds 14 & 15: Dc around.

Using yarn B, embroider a mouth

between Rnds 12 & 13.

Rnd 16: [Dc2tog, 3dc] around

• 24dc.
  Rnd 17: [Dc2tog, 2dc] around


• 18dc.
  Rnd 18: [Dc2tog, 1dc] around


• 12dc.
  Rnd 19: Dc around.
  Rnd 20: [2dc in next st, 1dc]
  around – 18dc.
  Rnd 21: [2dc in next st, 2dc]
  around – 24dc.
  Rnd 22: Dc around.

Fasten off yarn A.

Rnds 23–29: Using yarn B,

dc around.

Sew on arms at around Rnd 24.

Stuff head with toy stuffi ng.

Rnds 30–41: Using yarn B, dc

around.

Continue to stuff as you go.

Rnd 42: [Dc2tog, 4dc] to end

• 20dc.
  Rnd 43: [Dc2tog, 3dc] to end


• 16dc.
  Rnd 44: [Dc2tog, 2dc] to end


• 12dc.
  Rnd 45: [Dc2tog, 1dc] to end


• 8dc.
  Rnd 46: Dc2tog until the
  piece closes.
  Fasten off.

Attach legs and weave in ends.

Trim hair so that it looks equal

all around.

SKIRT

Using yarn C, 25ch, without

twisting sts, join with sl st to

make a ring.

Rnd 1: 2ch (counts as fi rst htr here

and throughout), 1htr in each ch

around, sl st to join – 25 sts.

Change to yarn B.

Rnd 2: 2ch, htr around, sl st

to join.

Rnd 3: 2ch, [2htr in next st, 2htr]

around – 32 sts.

Rnd 4: 2ch, [2htr in next st, 3htr]

around – 38 sts.

Rnds 5–10: 2ch, htr around, sl st

to join.

Rnd 11: *Miss next 2 sts, 1Shell

(see Special Stitches) in next st,

miss 2 sts, sl st in next st; rep from

* to end, sl st to join – 54 sts.

CROWN

Using yarn C, 35ch, without

twisting sts, join with sl st to

make a ring.

Row 1: 2ch, 1tr in each st, turn

• 35tr.
  Row 2: Miss fi rst 2 sts, 1Shell
  in next st, miss 2 sts, sl st in next
  st, miss next 2 sts; rep from to
  end, sl st to join.
  Fasten off, weave in end.

CAPE

Using yarn D, 43ch.

Row 1: 1tr in fourth ch from

hook, 1tr in each ch to end, turn

• 40 sts.
  Row 2: 3ch (counts as 1tr here
  and throughout), tr to end, turn.
  Row 3: Miss 12 sts, sl st into next
  (13th) st, 3ch, 15tr, turn – 16 sts.
  Row 4: 3ch, [2tr in next st, 3tr] to
  end, turn – 20 sts.
  Row 5: Rep Row 4, turn – 25 sts.
  Row 6: 3ch, [2tr in next st, 4tr] to
  end, turn – 30 sts.
  Rows 7–9: 3ch, tr to end, turn.
  Fasten off.
  Fold fi rst two rows to create arm
  holes and sew together.

Using yarn C, create a picot

border as foll:

Row 10: 3ch, 1dc in fi rst ch from

hook, 1dc into next ch, *3ch, 1dc

into previous dc, 1dc in next st;

rep from * to end of row.

Fasten off.

Weave in any

loose ends.
