Debbie Harry is a musician,
actor, activist, and the iconic
face of New York City cool.
With Blondie she has sold
millions of albums worldwide
and was inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
in 2006. She has acted in some of the most interesting
independent films of the last twenty years. She is devoted
to environmental issues such as clean water and saving
pollinators as well as the promotion of the LGBTQ
community and human rights.
The breadth of Debbie Harry’s impact on our culture
has been matched by her almost Sphinx-like reticence
about her inner life. Through it all, she’s infused her
perennial Blondie persona with a heady mix of raw
sexuality and sophisticated punk cool. InFace It, Debbie
Harry invites us into the complexity of who she is and how
her life and career have played out over the last seven
decades.
Chris Stein is the co-founder, songwriter, and guitarist of
the iconic punk band Blondie. His photographic work has
been featured in galleries and press around the world, and
published in the coffee table bookNegative: Me, Blondie,
and the Advent of Punk. Beyond his era-defining music
with Blondie, he has collaborated with a host of artists
over the years, from Shepard Fairey to Glenn O’Brien and
Andy Warhol.
Rob Roth is a multidisciplinary artist and director based in
New York City. He works in theater, video, sculpture and
performance. He has created works and collaborated with
such music artists as Debbie Harry/Blondie, Lady Gaga,
David Bowie and Rihanna, as well as performance artists,
Narcissister, Julie Tolentino, Justin Vivian Bond (Kiki and
Herb) among others.
