Canon Seeks Patent
for Eye-controlled AF
Canon has filed a patent application
in Japan for eye-controlled AF for
mirrorless cameras. Application details
how its proposed system would use
infrared light to illuminate the eye while
a CCD sensor would track the camera
operator’s line-of-sight.

Fujifilm’s Advisory

Fujifilm has issued an advisory for
GFX 100 cameras that may be affected
due to a defective shutter button. The
advisory states that some users of the
camera experienced a loosening of side
shutter release ‘lock’ function contained
on the built-in vertical grip. Serial

udsen MOZA has
announced that
two products, the
AirCross 2 gimbal
stabiliser and the Slypod
motorised monopod,
first showcased at 2019
NAB Show in Las Vegas
in April 2019 are now
available in the market.

The AirCross 2 gimbal
stabiliser is compatible
with most mainstream
mirrorless cameras and
D-SLRs, having a payload
capacity of 3.2 kg.
Features like easy setup
and balancing, integrated
smart control system and
three-axis lock design
facilitate filmmaking. Inside the gimbal
is a 3,000 mAh battery that powers up

the MOZA Aircross 2 for
around 12 hours. The
battery has a built-in
USB charging interface
and can be fully charged
within one and a half
hours.

The Slypod is a 2-in-
monopod and slider,
with a high precision
motion slider encased in
a carbon fibre body that
helps keep its weight
less than a kilo, even
including the batteries.
The carbon fiber body
also improves the
durability of the frame,
providing support for
vertical payload of
up to 18 kg and horizontal payload of up
to 12 kg.
