NATIONAL NEWS

S

ony India has introduced the
latest addition to its E-mount
full-frame lens lineup, the FE 35
mm f/1.8 large-aperture, wide-
angle prime lens.

The lens has a smart optical
construction including an
aspherical element to suppress
aberration and deliver high
resolution throughout the entire
image frame. A nine-blade circular
aperture enables beautiful bokeh.
The lens has a minimum focussing
distance of 0.22 m and maximum
magnification of 0.24x.

The lens weighs 280 grams and
measures 65.6 mm (diameter)
by 73.0 mm (length). When used
on APS-C bodies, it offers an
equivalent focal length of 52.5 mm.
It features a fast, precise and quiet
linear-motor AF drive system
for precise focus for both stills
and movies where ‘wobbling’ is
employed for delicate continuous
focus control.

The FE 35 mm f/1.8 Prime lens is
available for Rs.56,990 in all Sony
Center, authorised dealer and
major electronic stores in India.

ikon India has
announced an addition
to its S-series lenses with
the Nikkor Z 85 mm f/1.8
S medium-telephoto prime
lens. Nikon states that
unlike ordinary lenses,
with the Nikkor Z 85 mm
f/1.8 S, natural peripheral
illumination can be retained by receiving the
exact amount of light throughout the frame
from the centre, middle, to peripheral areas.

The lens employs extra-low dispersion
(ED) glass elements to ensure superior
image quality with minimal axial chromatic
aberration. The adoption of Nano Crystal
Coat effectively suppresses ghost and flare,
contributing to extremely clear photos and
videos even in backlit portrait shooting. The

lens also has a comfortable-
to-operate control ring to
which various functions can
be assigned. With extreme
dust- and drip-resistant
capabilities with sealing for
various parts, the lens can be
used in tough situations.

Nikon also states that this prime lens has
been developed to achieve beautiful bokeh
characteristics. The gentle, rounded bokeh
generated when point light sources are
blurred exhibits very little colour fringing
and remains pleasing all the way to the edges
of the frame. Moreover, the lens employs the
new multi-focussing system that reduces
aberrations even when shooting from close
distances, and as a result, delivers superior
imaging performance with detailed textures.
