Cacao Hemp Balls

Hemp seeds are one of the richest plant sources of polyunsaturated
essential fatty acids. They contain a perfect balance of omega-3
and omega-6 fats, which help promote strong immune function
and cardiovascular health.
Makes: 14 balls

1 packed cup medjool dates, pitted
¼ cup hemp seeds, plus extra for
topping
3 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp tahini

1 cup roasted hazelnuts, plus
16 extra
¾ cup dark chocolate chips
½ tbsp cold-pressed coconut oil

Place dates, hemp seeds, cacao
powder, tahini and hazelnuts
(reserving 16) in food processor. Blend
until well combined and mixture
forms balls.
Take a heaped tbsp of mixture,
place hazelnut in centre and mould
mixture around nut.

Place balls on tray lined with
baking paper in freezer for 20 mins
to set.
Melt chocolate and coconut oil in
small pan. Dip each ball in melted
chocolate and place on tray, sprinkle
with hemp seeds and place back in
freezer for 20 mins.

Hemp Granola with
Poached Pear

This delightful breakfast is packed with nutritional
goodness. Hemp seeds give your diet a boost in fibre,
protein and healthy fats. This dish will also deliver
probiotics to support your gut and immune health.
Ginger is an excellent anti-inflammatory herb that is
beneficial for cardiovascular health and anyone who
suffers from arthritis. Ginger also helps stimulate
circulation and ease digestive complaints.
Serves: 4

2 tbsp raw honey or maple
syrup
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla-bean paste
or extract
½ cup shredded coconut
½ cup flaked almonds
¼ cup pistachios
¼ cup raw sunflower
seeds
½ cup hemp seeds
2 tbsp chia seeds

½ cup whole oats
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Poached Pears
4 small ripe pears, peeled
2 cups orange juice
2 cups water
2½cm ginger root
Zest 1 orange
Organic natural or
coconut yoghurt,
to serve

Preheat oven to 160°C. Line 2 large baking trays with
baking paper.
In small bowl, combine honey or maple syrup,
coconut oil and vanilla.
Place coconut, nuts, seeds, oats and cinnamon in
food processor and pulse 3–4 times to form chunky
granola. Transfer mixture to bowl and stir through
honey mix until well combined.
Spread granola mixture evenly onto baking trays
and bake for 20–25 mins until golden brown. Toss
mixture together after 15 mins. Allow to cool then
store in jar in fridge.
To poach pears, place pears, juice, water, ginger and
orange zest in small saucepan. If necessary, add extra
water to cover pears. Simmer for 20 mins until soft.
To serve, spoon yoghurt into bowl, top with 1 pear and
sprinkle with granola.

Strawberry & Orange Hemp Seed Jam

A simple breakfast of jam on toast can so easily move
from simple to healthfully decadent and abundant in
nutrients with this delicious jam. It’s heavenly on
top of a slice of sourdough or seed bread with
a dollop of coconut yoghurt and some extra fruit
such as banana or kiwi fruit.
Serves: 4–6

200g mixed berries
½ tsp orange zest
2 tsp vanilla

2 tbsp maple syrup
3 tbsp chia seeds
3 tbsp hemp seeds

Combine berries, orange
zest, vanilla and maple
syrup in food processor
or blender and blitz to
uniform consistency.
Remove from blender

and stir through chia and
hemp seeds.
Place in fridge to set for
4–6 hours.
Keeps in fridge for up
to 2 weeks.
