BORIS JOHNSON: WORST
Britain from Brexit. We don’t have to go
over the cliff.’ I send him texts
in which I sequence the
stages he can go to climb
down from the
impossible height of
where he is now, on
top of the greasy
poll. But I feel
Brexit is
undeliverable.
It is like getting
an enormous
parcel from
Kemp – The Mitchell brothers –
were rumoured to have a real-life
feud behind the scenes on the soap.
On-screen, the pair rowed
constantly – largely over their love
lives. It all kicked off after Phil had an
affair with Sharon Watts who was
married to younger brother Grant.
Later on Phil found out Grant had
vengefully slept with his wife Kathy.
In the political sphere, the Mili-
band brothers have had a strained
relationship since Ed narrowly beat
David in the final round of the 2010
Labour Party leadership election.
David, who was the favourite, was
stunned by his brother’s decision to
stand for the party’s top job.
Things had become so
chaotic between the pair
that Noel simply couldn’t
deal with the idea of being
around his brother, singer
Liam, any longer.

THE Johnsons are not the only well-
known brothers to fall out.
Adam and Eve’s sons Cain and
Abel are the original feuding siblings.
Cain is credited with committing
the first-ever murder.
After God appeared to favour Abel
his older sibling became so jealous
that he killed him.
The Gallagher brothers
are involved in a high-
profile spat, knocking
each other in public
since Oasis split in 2009.
Noel, the group’s lead
guitarist, stunned fans by
leaving the band in the
middle of a world tour.

PM’S WEEK FROM
HELL.. SO FAR
TUESDAY Loses vote as MPs take
control of Parliament. Tory MP Philip
Lee defects to Lib Dems. PM kicks 21
rebels out of the party, including Ken
Clarke and Winston Churchill’s
grandson, Sir Nicholas Soames.
WEDNESDAY Double defeat as MPs
vote to block no-deal Brexit and stop
his plans for snap general election.
Hit by backlash from Tory MPs over
his purge of moderates. Faces calls to
sack his adviser Dominic Cummings.
Flounders as Labour MPs attack him
for inflaming racial hatred.
THURSDAY Brother Jo quits in
protest over Brexit. Boris is heckled
on a walkabout in Yorkshire before
giving shambolic speech on policing.
Fails to help a police cadet who faints
after being left waiting in sun for an
hour because he was late.
FIRST his own MPs turned against
him, now Boris Johnson has found
himself under attack from family
members furious over his stubborn
and reckless no-deal Brexit bid.
Brother Jo yesterday quit the Cabinet
and took a swipe at the PM, suggesting
he was not acting in Britain’s interests.
Sister Rachel told how Mr Johnson is
alone among relatives in his views on
Brexit and said she has pleaded with him
to change his disastrous course on
Brexit to save Britain from crashing out
and plunging into economic chaos.
His own family turning on him caps a
bruising week for the PM, in which he
lost three Commons votes to block his
no-deal plans and call a snap election
and sparked a Tory civil war by sacking
rebel MPs who moved against him.
And yesterday his chaotic premiership
continued with a rambling speech in
Wakefield, West Yorks, at what was
supposed to be the launch of his election
campaign. He insisted he would “rather
be dead in a ditch” than ask Brussels for
an extension to Article 50.
But it was the attacks by relatives that
will have hit him hardest.
Labour immediately leapt on Jo’s
decision to quit as business minister and
MP for Orpington in South East London.
The party said: “Boris Johnson poses
such a threat that even his own brother
doesn’t trust him.”
Jo admitted he had been “torn
between family loyalty and the national
interest” so felt he had no
choice but to go. And
Rachel, who joined the
Lib Dems then Change
UK to campaign against
Brexit, told how she texts
Mr Johnson urging him to
do a U-turn.
She said in a London
speech the Johnson family
did not discuss leaving
the EU, especially at family
meals. Rachel added: “You
can’t talk about Brexit.
“He [Boris] is so
outnumbered. He is the only person who
thinks that Brexit is a good idea. We
believe in facts. We can’t have that
conversation as it is fact
confronting belief or religion. It
has come to almost ISIS level in
its intensity and silliness.
“But how much he
thinks it is a good idea
is open to question.
“If I had a pound
for everyone who
said, ‘Please stage an
intervention. Tell
him he can save
He is the only
person who thinks
Brexit is a good
idea. It cannot be
done and I tell him
