This week marks one year since the tragic events of last September.

We understand this disaster profoundly impacted the people of the Merrimack Valley and we remain

deeply sorry. Our teams have been working every day to restore the affected communities, and we

recognize that this process has not been without challenges and disruptions.

We also understand that we can never undo what was done – above all, the life that was lost.

We continue to be humbled and touched by the acts of good will we’ve experienced over the past year

• from how neighbors helped neighbors, to the way our crews were welcomed into your communities.
  Thank you for your patience, flexibility and support.

There have been many partners in our recovery efforts, including the first responders, federal, state, and

local officials, and the nonprofit community. We deeply appreciate their continued support.

While important progress toward recovery has been completed, we fully understand that restoring the

trust and confidence of our customers and our community leaders will take time.

Over the past year, we’ve worked to identify and implement specific steps to enhance safety across

all our systems, taking actions to help prevent something like this from ever happening again. This

includes installing over pressurization protection devices on our low-pressure systems; accelerating

implementation of a comprehensive Safety Management System; and enhancing our emergency

preparedness plans, among other safety initiatives. We will continue our enhanced safety-related work

in Merrimack Valley and across Massachusetts, and we thank you for your continued cooperation as we

perform this work.

Our entire team is dedicated to providing our customers with safe and reliable gas service, and

supporting the affected communities in the months and years ahead.

A LA COMUNIDAD DE MERRIMACK VALLEY

Esta semana se cumple un año desde los trágicos eventos del pasado septiembre.

Entendemos que este desastre impactó significativamente a la gente de Merrimack Valley y lo

seguimos lamentando profundamente. Nuestros equipos han estado trabajando todos los días para

restaurar las comunidades afectadas, y reconocemos que este proceso no ha estado exento de retos e

interrupciones.

También entendemos que nunca podemos deshacer lo que se hizo, sobre todo, la vida que se perdió.

Continuamos honrados y conmovidos por los actos de buena voluntad que hemos experimentado
