Spread some festive joy

at Christmas with this

captivating angel abc

Angel ABC

Stitcher’s guide

Our angelic alphabet is

stitched onto 14-count

light blue aida using

15 colours of stranded

cotton and metallic

thread. Each letter is

worked in whole cross

stitch and fractionals, plus

backstitch for definition.

As they only take a couple

of hours to complete,

we think these letters are

ideal for beginners who

want to extend their skills.

Create your own heavenly chorus with this stunning alphabet – you'll

love stitching the delicate wings and adding shiny metallic highlights

1

Find the centre of your

fabric by folding it in

half both horizontally and

vertically. Find the centre of

the chart and start stitching

from here, in the centre of

the fabric, working your

way outwards.

2

Complete all the

cross stitch first using

two strands of cotton or

metallic thread. Whenever

you come across a tiny

symbol on the chart, work

a fractional stitch.

3

Work the backstitch

next – backstitch is

worked in one strand of

thread for these letters and

in two different colours,

so make sure you check

the key as you stitch to

ensure that you are always

working correctly.

4

Once you have

completed all the

backstitch, then carefully

check over your finished

stitching and then prepare

it for making up.
