Stitcher’s guide
It will take you around
40 hours to stitch this
gorgeous cushion.
Worked onto 28-count
antique white evenweave,
it contains whole
cross stitch, fractionals,
backstitch and French
knots, so we think it's best
suited to intermediate
stitchers who are looking
for a winter challenge.

1
Find the centre of your
fabric by folding it in half
both horizontally and vertically.
Follow the arrows on the chart
to find its centre and start
stitching from here, in the
centre of the fabric, working
your way outwards.
2
Complete all the cross stitch
and the fractional stitches
using two strands of cotton.
Sixteen different colours of
thread are used in this project,
so check the key as you stitch.
3
Work the backstitch next
using just one strand of dark
brown cotton.
4
Work the French knots
using one strand of cotton.
You'll use both orange and dark
brown threads to make the
French knots for this project, so
check the key as you stitch to
make sure that you are always
working correctly.
5
Carefully check over your
finished stitching and then
prepare it for making up.
